Hey-oh, guys! I sent out a mass e-mail last night, and I'm hoping almost everyone got it -- only one bounced back to me.

But, just in case some of you haven't seen it (because I did use a handful of "pupnamehere" [at] livejournal [dot] com addresses), here it is:

Y'all:

a) First off, HELLO! For the uninitiated, I'm Crystal -- I'm the mun somewhat responsible for Kate Warner (justdidntseeit) from 24 and Ben Wade (almosthonorable) from the 2007 remake of 3:10 to Yuma. I'm wordsthatfail over on my mun journal, and sardonicynic on AIM (though I haven't been in crackchat for at least a couple of weeks now, thanks to work and life keeping me ridiculously busy, woe). But! The point is, if you're wondering why you've received this e-mail, it's totally because Kate Warner has talked to your pup about Boo's absence, or you've expressed interest in helping rescue Boo from the clutches of Cruella De Vil.

b) Can I just say that I am sitting here in amazement at the number of offers for aid this generated in less than twelve hours? You guys are awesome, for reals. So awesome, in fact, that Lai (that's Boo- and Cruella-mun!) and I have been making googly eyes at our inboxes. *g* And while we are more than a little gobsmacked, we are *excited.* And Lai has promised to provide plenty of plot (read: obstacles) for everyone once the rescue party gets through Cruella's door.

c) So, you say, how is this going to happen?

I'm so glad you asked!

I'm going to EP Kate Warner tomorrow (the original plan was tonight, but I got called in on a surprise!copy desk shift, laaaaaaaame, though this *does* give me a bit of time to get some of Kate's OOMs posted to the bar between tonight and tomorrow's EP); she'll be holding the ransom note and be absolutely horrified, and any and all pups are welcome to tag in there with reaction. That post will be open, open, open till *after* the cows come home, as far as I'm concerned.

A few days later, Lai will EP a not-so-incognito Cruella; the one and only Bill Pardy (wheelsy_sheriff), Kate's boyfriend and Boo's favorite human trampoline, has met Cruella briefly, so he'll recognize her. Our rescue party will manhandle (if need be) Cruella out her door and into her world, where they'll proceed to SAVE BOO.

(And, as Lai's promised, there will be plenty to get in their way.)

To make this easiest for everyone, our rescuers will be split into two teams: one led by Bill, and the other probably led by Detective Kate Beckett (fanofthegenre, if you're up for that, Carly? Don't let me sit here and brow-beat you into anything, *especially* if you're crunched for time! It's just that Beckett's experience with kidnapping cases speaks volumes on its own).

As far as the actual savin' goes, pups with magic will be encouraged to use it; pups with weapons will be encouraged to proceed with caution. At the end of the day, Boo *is* only a toddler, and gunfire in particular is loud and scary -- we don't want to traumatize her *too* terribly.

(That said, I'm not sure what kind of surprises Lai's ebil mind has in store for those "obstacles," so going in with weapons/guns drawn is probably a given since everyone's running in blind, and actually firing bullets is a *possibility,* for sure.)

I have to click away to do actual work now -- which makes me sad in my pants over here -- but there's the general specifics! I (and Beckett, obvs) would definitely love to get involved in any kind of plot and rescue. She's got a lot of experience going into potentially dangerous situations and rescuing hostages, so I'm certain she wouldn't mind leading a team of willing people.

AAIIEE, right on. I'll have Kate Warner in the bar shortly (and again on Friday), and I thiiiink Lai'll be EPing Cruella on Saturday to kickstart the rescue shenanigans. (Though, as always, we're totally flexible to allow for schedules and time-zones! Slowtime is never a problem!)

As soon as we've got a definite number, we'll split the ranks for Team Beckett and Team Bill!

It occurs to me, after reading Charlie's comment below, that starting Friday, June 25th, I will be offline for a week. Thus if this doesn't seem like something we can wrap up in a week, perhaps I should pass. I don't want to hold things up!

My one caveat is that I will be away for the weekend (Friday-Sunday). If this begins then, I will step aside, seeing as how Boo will be in good hands either way. Otherwise, I am still in.

Oh oh, that's right -- I remember seeing that in a recent DE; I hope you have a great time!

Lai's just confirmed that she'll get Cruella in on Saturday to kickstart the rescue, so no worries if it's easier to duck out. But, if we've got slowtimes goin' and there's any way to bring Charlie in once you're back, we can most certainly do that!

So, to clarify: pups interested in participating in the rescue should, at some point "before" or during Cruella's EP, hook up with either Kate or Bill?

That might be the easiest? But! If you prefer to have your pup tag into the commotion that'll come with Cruella's EP and have 'em join the crew as they head out Cruella's door, we can certainly work out participation that way, too!
